This family-owned business has been bringing Bavaria to Leavenworth for over 25 years. The chef, Anita Hamilton, has been personally overseeing the kitchen since 1991 and is a native of Germany. The made-from-scratch desserts, soups and entrees are reminiscent of traditional Gasthaus fare. The owner, Heidi Forchemer, travels to Germany yearly for new menu ideas. Her son, Max, can be heard playing his button accordion most weekends, along with other local musicians, such as Tom Tilton of the Alpenfolk band. It simply doesn't get more authentic than this!

Every experience I have had here has been a great one. Walk-in in with no wait. Delicious food, fast and kind service, very very much worth the price!! 10/10 recommendðŸ’— I would definitely give this a higher rating if available!(:

My family and I came from Western Washington and I called ahead of time and they were able to put us on a waiting list while we were on our way so that was fantastic . Place was packed full of people and our wait was only 3 minutes when we arrived. These guys are great I highly recommend coming here to eat authentic German Bavarian food and the atmosphere is so friendly live music we will never forget this place I can't wait to come back. Also we were a party of 8 so there is room for some what large party again call ahead of time recommend.

My dad and I ate here last Sunday and the food was so good! We found the prices to be pretty reasonable considering how much food you get. I don't remember what the schnitzel special was, but it was by far my favourite!! It came highly recommended by our server Kate, who was so sweet. We also got the sampler dish as well. It was very good also. Kate was very attentive as well. She noticed right away that one of our substitutions in the meal was wrong, and already had the replacement on the way. The live music was really great as well! It gave the restruant a really nice fun ambiance. When I come back to Leavenworth with my husband, I'll definitely be bringing him here!

Sorry, it’s an old business in a much older building and located underground. However, during slower months, we can serve the food in our main level restaurant, The Gingerbread Factory. Anytime from January 4 to May 1, excluding weekends and holidays, or whenever it is possible!

Hello, we generally accept reservations on non-holiday/festival weekends for groups 15 or larger. We utilize more of a queue system with our digital list service. We recommend guests call around 2 hours ahead to get on our list for evening dining. Feel free to contact us if you have any more questions.
